Late March, I was laid off from my previous employer, Roam, due to a larger downsizing effort. Fortunately, already being in NYC & having connections there meant I was able to secure an interview with, then a position as Software Engineer at Jane Street.

I’ll be working on Aria, their distributed logging framework (think Kafka but scales differently to get total ordering), which has been the subject of blog posts, podcasts, & many campus talks.

My first week has been very busy, what with admin & onboarding & learning OCaml & whatnot, but I am excited to be part of a very cool team doing very cool things. Looking forward to it!
